Charles H Perkins

Charles H Perkins enlisted as Private in Company F, 28th NY in May 1861. He was wounded at the Battle of Cedar Mountain on August 9th, 1862. He was subsequently discharged for wounds on December 22nd 1862 at Alexandria, Va.
Charles Perkins is buried at Byron Cemetery in Byron, Genesee County, NY.
His marker reads:
CHARLES A PERKINS
28th N.Y. Inf.
Died Sept. 22 1909
Aged 72 Years
In the cemetery, Charles Perkins is one of several veterans of the 28th New York who are buried by the Civil War monument. He doesn't get a mention on the monument, but his own marker is right next to the others.
