Based on the regiments roster books, and contrary to the grave marker, Robert Irving enlisted with Company C of the 28th New York on February 22nd 1862. He signed three year papers and, when the 28th NY was mustered out, was transferred to the barracks at Albany. From here he was transferred with the other three year enlistees to the 10th Maine battalion. | ||||||||||||||
He died on June 6th 1915 at the Veterans Hospital in Bath and is buried at the Bath National Cemetery at Bath, Steuben County, NY. | ||||||||||||||
Mr. Irving is buried in Section I, Row 1, Site 2. His grave marker reads: | ||||||||||||||
