George Southard | ||||||||||||||
At age 30, George Southard enlisted as a Private in Company B, 28th NY. During the regiments reorganization after the Battle of Cedar Mountain, he was promoted to Corporal on November 10th, 1862. He was promoted again, to Sergeant, on February 24th, 1863. He then mustered out with the regiment on June 2nd, 1863. | ||||||||||||||
He is buried in Cold Spring Cemetery in Lockport, Niagara County, NY. | ||||||||||||||

Entering the cemetery through the Cold Springs Road entrance, George Southard is buried to the left, about 30 meters away from the groundskeeper’s house. As the picture with show, it appears to be a very new stone. | ||||||||||||||
