William McDonald | ||||||||||||||
William McDonald may have only been 16 when he enlisted with the 28th NY. However, the enlistment papers have him as 18 years old, and enlisted in Company D of the 28th NY as Private on April 30th 1861. He was wounded at the Battle of Antietam, Md on September 17th 1862, served his enlistment and was mustered out with the regiment on June 2nd 1863. | ||||||||||||||
he died on June 24th 1913 and is buried at the Bath National Cemetery in the town of Bath, Steuben County, NY. | ||||||||||||||
