William H Crampton

William Crampton enlisted with Company B in May 1861 with the rank of Private. He served through to March 17, 1862 at which time he died of disease in Winchester, Virginia.

He is buried at Cold Springs Cemetery, Lockport, Niagara County, NY. His gravestone is very worn and some sections are impossible to read. However, we can see the following:

WILLIAM H Son of Samuel & Caroline CRAMPTON Born _____[1840] Died _____[1862] Age 32 years

Mr. Crampton's father, Samuel, and other people are on another side of the stone which has less wear, pictured below, however, the exact transcription was not taken.
