Albert L. Bean

Albert Bean enlisted as a Private in Company G o the 28th NY in May 1861. He was captured at Chancellorsville on May 2nd 1863, was transferred to Libby Prison and was paroled 12 days later, on May 14th 1863. He mustered out with the regiment on June 2nd, 1863. He is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Rochester, NY.
Mount Hope is one of the two main cemeteries for the city of Rochester and it is very well maintained. He is buried along with his wife, Mary, in Section O, Lot 115.
His stone reads:

His wife’s stone reads:

You’ll notice that the grave markers, despite being next to one another, have different regiments listed. However, I have been unable to find Albert L Bean on the roster for the 26th NY and his military records do not show him reenlisting after leaving the 28th NY.
