| There are a large number of suttlers which provide reenactors with uniforms, firearms,
equipment and consumables. Members of the 28th New York Volunteer Infantry regularly use the following Suttlers when purchasing
authentic, appropriate and reliable supplies: |
| C & D Jarnagin |
| Blockade Runner |
| Charlies Boat Works |
| Dirty Billy's Hats |
| Fall Creek Suttlery |
| Regimental Quartermaster |
| James Country Mercantile |
| (We will be adding to the list as it develops) |
| It is worth noting that, during the American Civil War, and infact throughout most
national armies of the Victorian era, the term "Uniform" was far from a representation of fact. In the American Civil War,
their was a large number of different uniform styles to represent the different armies, departments, branches of service,
states and even regiments. |
| This was especially true early in the war, the period that the 28th New York represents,
their were situations where several different uniforms existed within a single regiment to represent instances where multiple
pre-war militia regiments were merged to form Volunteer regiments. |
| If you are new to the hobby and have any questions regarding what would be appropriate
for a member of the 28th New York, and the Uniform Guidelines page does not answer your question , please contact the 28th New
York Military Coordinator or any senior member of the unit and we will be more than happy to answer any question you might have. |
