William H. Tenbrook | ||||||||||||||
At the age of 18, William Tenbrook enlisted as a Private in Company K, 28th NY. He was promoted to Corporal on March 13th 1862. During the battle of Cedar Mountain, Va., on August 9th, 1862, he was captured and spent six weeks as a prisoner of war at Libby Prison in Richmond, Va. | ||||||||||||||
He was paroled at Aiken’s Landing, Va., on September 21st, 1862 and rejoined the regiment. He was then promoted to Sergeant on January 24th 1863. He mustered out with the regiment on June 2nd, 1863. | ||||||||||||||
Mr. Tenbrook is buried in Lakeview Cemetery in the town of Olcott, Niagara County, NY. | ||||||||||||||

This is a very small cemetery and you need to pass through a small gate between some houses to access the cemetery. Within the cemetery, Mr. Tenbrook is buried immediately on the left hand side. | ||||||||||||||
