Ziba Roberts

Ziba Roberts enlisted as Private in Company D of the 28th New York in November 1861. He was captured in the retreat following the Battle of Winchester on May 25th 1862, was paroled on September 13, 1862 and rejoined the regiment. He was mustered out with the regiment in June 1863.
He is buried at East Shelby (Trensch Road) Cemetery, Shelby, Orleans County, NY along with his wife, four children and his parents. East Shelby is a small cemetery and they are buried central in the cemetery.
Placed next to a main family stone reading "ROBERTS", his marker reads:
