William Kruske

William Kruske enlisted as Private in Company K of the 28th NY on May 22nd 1861. He served in the Brigade Quartermasters Department in February 1862 and was temporarily detailed to Battery K of the 1st NY Light Artillery from March to May 1863. He mustered out with the regiment on June 2nd 1863.

Along with his wife and two children, he is buried at North Ridge Cemetery in the town on Cambria, Niagara County.

His marker reads:

William Kruske 1831 - 1902 Served in Civil War 1861 - 63 Co. K. 28th NY

His wife and childrens marker stones read as follows:

Rosalie D. Wife of William Kruske 1844 - 1921

Josie Daughter of William and Rosa Kruske Born Feb. 18, 1870 Died May 2, 1893

Walter Son of William and Rosa Kruske Born Aug. 6th, 1879 Died June 7th, 1893

In the cemetery, the Kruske family is in section 3-270. Drive straight along the main entrance road until the very end. They are buried on the left about 20 rows from the back of the cemetery. Apologies for the quality of the pictures.
