William M Kenyon | ||||||||||||||
William Kenyon enlsited as 2nd Lieutenant of Company G, 28th New York in May 1861. He was promoted to the rank of 1st Lieutenant on Jan 30th 1862. He was captured at the Battle of Cedar Mountain on August 9th 1862, was paroled and rejoined the regiment on December 5th 1862. | ||||||||||||||
He commanded the company through to the Battle of Chancellorsville on May 3rd 1863, at which time he was taken prisoner again. He was paroled from Libby Prison on May 13th 1863 and returned to Lockport to join the regiment to be mustered out on June 3rd 1863. | ||||||||||||||
Mr. Kenyon is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Rochester, Monroe County, NY. he is buried there with his daughter; Carolyn, and grand-daughter; Mabel Doris. | ||||||||||||||
