William Silk

At age 21, William Silk enlisted as a Private in Company B, 28th NY. He served through to Jan 15th, 1863, at which time he was discharged for disability at Fairfax Station, Va. He later reenlisted as Private in Company I of the 2nd New York Mounted Rifles.
He is buried in Cold Springs Cemetery in Lockport, Niagara County, NY along with a number of relatives. However, what relation they are to William Silk is unknown.

Aged 71 yrs
Within Cold Springs cemetery, he is buried in the north west corner. The railroad tracks run along the northern edge and Cold Springs Road runs along the west side of the cemetery.
