Roswell Coddington

Roswell Coddington (also seen as Roswald Coddington) enlisted as Private of Company F, 28th New York in May 1861. He died as a result of disease ten months later on March 5th 1862 at Hagerstown, Maryland.
He is buried at Harvester Cemetery in Batavia, Genesee County, New York. Mr Coddington is one of the people from the 28th for whom we have known the burial place for some time and we, as a reenacting group, have camped close to his grave site during living history events on numerous occasions.
The stone reads:
ROSWELL CODDINGTON
Co.F 28 N.Y. Inf.
1839 - 1862
In the cemetery, he is buried to the right of the main track about 40 feet past the cemetery maintenance building.
