Charles Robillard

Charles Robillard (appears as Robillord on his marker stone) enlisted as Private in Company C, 28th NY on 25, April 1861. He was captured at the Battle of Cedar Mountain on August 9, 1862 and subsequently paroled on September 13, 1862, at Aikens Landing, Va. He mustered out with the regiment on June 2, 1863. Based on his marker stone, he reenlisted with the 100th NY.
He is buried at North Ridge Cemetery in Cambria, Niagara County, NY and his marker stone reads as follows:
CHARLES ROBILLORD
Died
Sept. 10 1904
Private in 28th and 100th NY
He was not expected to be buried in North Ridge, which says more about the quality of burial records than anything else; however, he is there. Within the cemetery, he is buried approximately half way along the main entrance road on the left. No plot details are currently available.
