Ozial Southworth

Osial Southworth (Name as on his marker stone) was born in Yates, Orleans County, on April 11th 1844. At the age of 18 he enlisted as Private in Company D, 28th New York. He was captured at the Battle of Cedar Mountain on August 9th 1862 and was paroled four months later at Aikens Landing, Virginia. He mustered out with the regiment on June 2nd 1863.
He died on July 30th 1909 and is buried at the Bath National Cemetery at Bath, Steuben County, NY.
Mr. Southworth is buried in Section I, Row 15, Site 7. His grave marker reads:
