Niagara Rifles; Scott Life Guard
Hamilton T Holden

Hamilton Holden enlisted as Private in Company C in May 1861 and served through to June 1863, when the regiment was mustered out. He was captured at the Battle of Winchester, Va on May 25, 1862. He was paroled on June 9, 1862 and rejoined the regiment. Based on his gravestone, he reenlisted with the 91st NY, however, this is not documented anywhere else.
Mr. Holden is buried at Cold Springs Cemetery, Lockport, Niagara County, NY. There do not appear to be any other people buried with him.
The stone reads:
Co. C 28th NY
Co. K 91st NY Vol
Born Jan 1 1842
Died Dec 19 1895
He is buried very close to two other men who served with the 28th NY along by the railroad tracks which run along the northern edge of the old section of the cemetery.
