Niagara Rifles; Scott Life Guard
James F Dunham

James Dunham enlisted as Private in Company D, 28th NY on October 17, 1861 and mustered in service with the regiment on October 25, 1861. He was wounded in action at the Battle of Cedar Mountain on August 9, 1862. He mustered out with the regimenty on June 2, 1863.
He is buried at Cold Springs Cemetery in Lockport, Niagara County, NY along with his wife and daughter. Their marker stones read as follows:
JAMES F. DUNHAM
28th REGT. N.Y. Vols. Co. D.
1839-1890
SOPHIA E DUNHAM
1838-1930
ANNA B DUNHAM
1870-1938
Within the cemetery, the roads are mostly named after types of tree. They are buried near the top of the hill close to Linden Road in Lot D, Section 111. Anna Dunham has a marker laying flat on the ground so was under about six inches of snow when I photographed it. I'll need to get a better photo at some point.
